Children are grouped according to age and ability. Smaller group activities are offered to help meet individual children's needs within their class too. Our ethos is to educate children through play. If they play with self-chosen activities and resources, they will engage in the learning process efficiently.
Our classroom environment is planned on a free-flow basis, where activities and resources are accessible to children at all times. Staff carefully plan what is available and the rotation too, to make sure that playing has an educational opportunity too! A key worker system operates, with every member of the staff team responsible for a small group of children each.
The outdoor classroom is hugely important in the delivery of the EYFS curriculum.
We are really fortunate that our garden is very well equipped with tunnels, dens, play houses, construction and building play, race track for ride-on toys and cars, allotment, art, quiet play and finally challenging climbing opportunities for older children!
The garden was completely renovated in 2011 and is regularly maintained and updated. We make sure that all children have daily access to the outdoors.
We go outside whatever the weather, so please ensure your child has waterproof clothing and wellies in nursery!
We also have the benefit of an array of highly educational resources in the learning grid classroom.
The Learning Grid is an additional area, provided on top of the standard pre-school room requirements. We go way over and above the level of resources 'required', thereby giving the children in our care, a unique opportunity to progress further into the school reception class level of the EYFS curriculum.
For the more gifted and talented, we can even support delivery of the KS1 curriculum within the Learning Grid classroom. Children from Tweenie and Preschool classes regularly visit the Learning Grid throughout their week at nursery.
Goslings Day Nursery takes great care to invest in modern facilities.
All our staff members are fully trained and well qualified.
We place equal emphasis on curricular as well as extra curriculars.
We adhere to the latest EYFS curriculum in the West Midlands.
Goslings Day Nursery is divided into 4 classes: Babies, Toddlers, Tweenies and Preschool. Each class organises age-appropriate activities for their children. Our children's nursery is registered to receive Nursery Education Grant funding on behalf of 3 and 4 year olds and we work to the new EYFS curriculum.
At Goslings, we pride ourselves on being the best and offering a unique services where parental involvement and partnership is actively encouraged. All of our staff are friendly and approachable and work hard on building relationships with families, not just children!
